The Sea Turtle Reseach Team (STRT) has been constituted by the students of Hacettepe University, Faculty of Science, Department of Biology in  coordination of Ali Fuat CANBOLAT, Ph.D. Main objective of STRT is to ensure the conservation of sea turtles (Caretta caretta ve Chelonia mydas) nesting on the Mediterranean beaches of Turkey and are potentially in danger of becoming extinct. In this web site you will find information about the biology of sea turtles whose population has declined dramatically, the major reasons of this decline, practices to be done for their conservation and about the projects carried out by STRT. Anyone who wants to cooperate and participate in helping the conservation of sea turtles, may join STRT as a volunteer.
